"I wish I were young, beautiful, rich and married to a handsome movie star!" Betty blurted out.

Linda turned and gave her co-worker an odd look. "Betty, what are you talking about?" she asked.

Betty looked slightly abashed. "Nothing," she mumbled, embarassed that she had given in to such a fantasy so easily. There's no such thing as magic wishes she chided herself silently.

Bambi, though, knew different, and she felt a slight chill wash through her bones. The woman had made a wish, and she knew that the skull necklace had done something - not to the mean sales clerk, but to her. She quickly turned to a nearby mirror to check herself out.

Bambi breathed a sigh of relief - as far as she could tell, she looked the same. Of course, even before the wish, Bambi had been young and beautiful, so there was nothing to change. However, she did notice that she was wearing something she hadn't been before - namely, a gold ring on her left hand.

Just then, there was a rush of excitement at the door of the shop. The three women turned to see who it was, and all their mouths fell open at once.

"Oh my GOD!" Linda exclaimed. "Are you - are you really..."

"That's me," the man said with a disarming smile. "Peter Brent. Pleased to meet you." He brushed back an unruly lock of chestnut hair and stuck out his hand to greet the two startled clerks.

Bambi stared at Peter Brent. He was one of the biggest movie stars on the planet - he commanded $25 million per picture, had been nominated for an Oscar already, adn had made the top of "People" magazine's "25 Sexiest Men" list two years in a row.

Up close, Bambi could see why. She knew that she probably shouldn't feel this way, but she just couldn't stop staring at that handsomely sensitive and rugged face, those deep blue eyes, that dazzling smile, the bulging muscles under his finely tailored suit. He's not just a mega-hunk, she decided, *he's a **mega-*mega-hunk!

And then he turned to her and smiled at her. "Hey Bamb," he said.

And her heart almost stopped.

And suddenly Bambi remembered the rest of the saleswoman's wish.

And part of her was filled with apprehension at what that implied.

And part of her was filled with ecstasy at the prospect.

And as the movie star stepped up to his wife, took her in his arms and kissed her deeply, Bambi Brent's heart and mind exploded in ecstasy and drove all the apprehension, doubt, and any other thoughts sh had from her young, beautiful, rich, blonde head.
