Karyn smiled at Jon, who looked terrified. "I've got a fun idea," she said. Jon's terrified expression intensified. "I wish I went to the same school as you."
"What are you doing?!"
"Just having some fun," Karyn replied with a grin. "School would be no fun without my little Jon." She pinched his cheek lightly, looking triumphant.
Suddenly, the front door opened, making Karyn and Jon jump with surprise. It was Jon's mother.
"Sorry, Karyn, dear, I forgot my purse by the door!" she called from the entrance, not looking around the corner at Karyn. "Remember to get my little girl asleep by 7:30, oh, and I need you to watch her for me tomorrow, is that alright? I'm sure your school won't mind."
