Jon gasped. Then, he started telling Karyn about everything that had happened to him in the last few weeks. "Jon!" Karyn tried to stop him. However, after pausing just long enough to give Karyn the chance to say something if she wanted to, Jon kept telling her everything he could tell her about his life. Then, Karyn realized that this was the result of Jon's mom's wish. Jon was now telling Karyn exactly what was going on in his life!
"Jon," Karyn tried again. Jon paused again, but this time Karyn took advantage of it. "Say 'I wish you could stop telling me about your life if you wanted to'" Karyn said. Jon complied, and immediately a look of relief went over his (or her) face.
"Thanks," Jon said from Karyn's body.
"You're welcome," Karyn replied. "Now, lets try to fix this."
Jon said, "I think I've got it. I wish that I was in my old body." Sure enough, Jon found himself back in his own body. "Good deal," Jon said. "Now, I've been thinking. Why don't you spend the night tonight so we can have fun with this thing and also figure out how to keep out of trouble with it?"
"I'd like to," Karyn replied, "but our parents would never allow it. We're too old to sleep over at each other's houses anymore."
"Ah, but you're forgetting that thanks to my wish, Mom has to do what I say." Jon answered. And if you'd make a quick wish to take care of your parents..."
Karyn grinned. "Great idea! Let's see... I wish that Mr. and Mrs. Scott would do whatever you say! That should cover it!"
Jon agreed. At that moment, Jon's mom returned with the snacks. "Here you go, honey," she said.
"Whatever," Jon said. "Listen Karyn's going to spend the night tonight."
"Um, no, she is not," Mrs. Madison put her hands on her hips and raised her voice. "And I don't appreciate you taking that tone with me young man!"
"What... Mom, I said it will be okay!" Jon said uncertainly.
"No, it will not! Karyn, I think you had better leave. Jon and I need to have a talk about how to respect one's mother!" Mrs. Madison was furious. Karyn began to get ready to leave, when she suddenly had an idea.
"Mrs. Madison," Karyn began.
Linda Madison turned quickly with an attentive expression. "Yes, dear," she replied.
With more confidence, Karyn continued, "Its perfectly okay for me to spend the night tonight or any night. In fact, you are going to order Jon and I pizza and hang out in your room unless we call you tonight."
Jon's mom smiled and said, "Why certainly dear. I don't know what I was thinking. What time would you like that pizza?"
"Six would be fine," Karyn said.
"I'll call it in," Mrs. Madison said as she left the room, "If you need me, I'll be in my room."
