Scott didn't seem to be changing. The medallion wasn't touching the slippers. But the chain was long enough that if he got up it would dangle--and it then might touch them and cause the accident he was worried about. He picked up the slippers and tossed them aside, then got up and went to his room to change. Several minutes later he was Scott again.
The first step was to make sure he could change the baby back, whatever happened. "Aunt Sharon, you have some clean disposable diapers, right?"
"Yes I do," she replied.
"Okay, uhh, you know I really don't know how to put on diapers. Could you put one on baby Scott and take it off? Please?"
"Okay, but just this once."
"Mom... did you find any old clothes of mine?"
"I think so," she said.
They went through the clothes that his mother found, along with the rags from the bag. Finally Scott decided on a pair of suspenders that his mother assured him was from when he was three. After Sharon finished taking the diaper off the baby again he put the medallion around the baby's neck. Then it was time to take the suspenders and...
"Scott!" yelled Aunt Sharon.
"What's wrong?" asked Scott.
"The slipper! It's in the crib!"
Scott had managed to toss the slipper into a very bad place. Now the medallion was touching it and the baby was wearing the medallion. He could already see little Scott growing....
