Enjeublue's Royal Mistake branch introduced me to the idea that only someone Queenly should have the Stone, and I'm afraid I like that idea so much that it might already have become a trope for me.

I'm gonna be honest; this episode was difficult as hell to write. Tutorials are hard to make interesting.

Yes, it's Kyla that's getting the Rhythm game that everybody expected. I hope this works out; the idea of writing about a rhythm game through just text, with no backing music, sounds like the sort of thing that might possibly be a very bad idea for some reason.

My original idea is for stoned Karyn to first wish that the transformed girls are able to retain control as long as they willingly keep in character, the autopilot only snapping in if they deviate too much. So they have to lean into being Buffy and Leilani to retain their control. Then, since the stone has made her somewhat alien and inhuman to make her truly unbiased, she'd observe humans often coped better with big life changes when they had others going through the same thing beside them, like birthing classes or group therapy, and she'd pick a handful of other Lakeview students and teleport them in before pairing them up and transforming them into their partner's ideal partner and saddling them with the same character maintaining controls Buffy and Leilani have.

That's my first idea at any rate, but Marazh and I have a nice back and forth thing going and I want to see what direction they take it in. I never would have thought to have the second transformation into Leilani, and that was fantastic.

Okay, the description was hilarious for me of their travel. I pictured like in the cartoons when they put a giant map and the protagonists were all over the map before finally reaching destination. Also, wondering if stoned Karyn (heh, pun) knows about real John or nope, instead will do a wish that works for Leilani/Buffy

For clarity, the stone is basically copying all the wishes Karyn has made so far in pursuit of her dream woman. So, 1. Jay and Vivian swap bodies and lives. 2. They won't tell anyone about it except each other and Bethany. 3. They'll be able to to tap into their new bodies muscle memory. 4. They will follow any suggestions Bethany has regarding the swap. This one doesn't copy the commands Karyn has made to Sarah and Jon, just the ability to do it. Of course Bethany doesn't know she has that power, so things might get out of hand. 5. Isn't one to one since Vivian's parents are dead, and she's not on a cheer squad, but Vivian's family and close friends will be very supportive of the new Vivian, and accept any changes she makes. 6. Again, Karyn's latest wish isn't exactly applicable, but basically the next time Jay-as-Vivian does something outrageous that could get her into trouble, she won't be punished and people will generally take her side. The big difference maker here of course is that Bethany won't secretly be in control, or know she has a lot of power over the pair, and she'll also potentially be dragged along for any further wishes Karyn makes.

I have a definite idea of what stone zonked Karyn might do to "help", but I'm really curious to see what direction Marazh is going to take it.

Ah yes because that's totally the worst potential consequence of erasing that class. Then again, he's pretty shaken at that moment, so he's probably not thinking straight.

I thought of the idea of Sarah's mom also. But, will the stone be literal in its interpretation and include a body switch, as well as the continuing wishes Karyn made to move things along? Perhaps it will wait till Bethany chooses someone or two someones before granting the wish.

Literally, maybe they should have thought of that.

How will Karyn help, if they are forced to act like the girls they are now when there's somebody else?

Wonder if it will make somebody else (Sarah's mom?) into her lover, or instead will take John/Sarah, age her, and then she will go for Karyn's mom

I have a couple of ideas how to resolve the cliffhanger, but whichever way I go, while Jon as Sarah's story will continue to play out, things are about to get more complicated.

Fantastic, fantastic episode! Love how you laid out Karyn and gave a lot more depth to her motivations. This ended on such a good cliffhanger too, can't wait to see what wishes come from Karyn's mishandling!

Yes, I am aware that I am making things exponentially harder on myself by sending the characters here to different games instead of grouping them together in one big co-op jamboree, but hey, I like the idea of a video game world custom-tailored to a specific character. Zoe the occult-loving Goth gets the Dark Fantasy setting, for instance, and Jon get the ability to turn into different girls all the flippin time. I have something more plainly fun for Kyla in mind, though.

Fun fact: this whole thread was born with the thought in mind, "what if the video game people get isekai'd into a la the trope was game I'd actually want to play, instead of a generic RPG?"

Tbh I might've overdone it with Zoe's game, though...

Recently I've noticed a lot of material fetishizing the concept of changing classes in a video game setting, but for some reason this rarely seems to take place in a video where switching classes is a core part of the game design, something a player is expected to do fairly often. Needless to say, this is my attempt at rectifying that.
