I don't know if it's a good idea to add a complex character like Miss Fine to an already complex story. It like trying to focus on two seperate giant plot points at the same time, which might complicate things a bit for both the readers and the people entering their entries.

Fun fact, each half of her reconstructed the other half via a memory of what the other half was. So there is going to be a logical right brained version and a more artsy left brained version.

Yeah, I thought that was a lot of fun to play with. I was thinking it could be interesting to explore the actors who play Tiffany, Biff, Steve, Jons Mom, etc, and how different they are from their characters. I'm thinking Shannon was a child star who is used to being the center of attention and was planning for the show to be her break into serious adult acting, but Madison was hugely popular in the first season, getting movie offers etc, so there's tension there.

For this branch, I'm toying with the idea of Jon eventually figuring out that the wish swapped him across realities with the real Madison Merlin, who thinks she's become trapped in the show she acts in. Whether he'll still want to go back by that point is up in the air, especially since his old reality will have altered to match the ongoing plot of the show.

That's similar to my original version, where it is Jon who is the breakout star, the actresses playing Sarah and Zoe are the nice ones, Shannon is a prima dona who thought she was supposed to be the star...and if they do end up in rewrites...what does that do to Jon's original life? If he gets back to it?

I'd be interested to see that! The whole premise sparked a lot of ideas for me. Planning to have Madison be the break out star who's in conflict with the more established star, Shannon who plays Karyn. Jon's going to have to struggle with Sarah suddenly being a supportive worried girlfriend, and Karyn suddenly hating his guts, his original body being a one episode gimmick, and an entire life outside the show he's a complete stranger to.

Might inspire me to add to one of the other branches. Bringing back old ideas.

So, the plan is for the episode they were filming to be the premiere of the second season of the show. In the plot of the show, Madison's regular character Jennifer has wished herself into Jon in this episode, which is why she was wearing all the makeup and clothes to make her look like a boy. Planning to have the show be a teen dramedy sort of CW adjacent. No clue if people still say Starlet, but the man she ran into, a producer on the show, was an older gentleman with perhaps a few antiquated phrases in his repertoire.

I want to know...what was the plot of the episode that required this? Episode 1, where the main character wishes themselves into a girl and that's the series? If it is more than 1 episode, there's the issue of the opening credits...especially if its an old school opener. Also, this is more curious...do people use the word Starlet?

I see, well that line wasn't really talking about a form of a powerful entity more so that in relation of a previous line "my dream familiar". Of course the whole initial chapter was meant to be vague enough that you could twist the narrative a generous amount without creating plotholes. However, I was thinking when thinking of the "familiar character creation system" as it were, is that the less true to her desires the witch is when choosing or designing a form, the less power the familiar has. Tried to kill two birds with one stone you see, a way to lure Jim to accept to let her choose and a way to tell future branch writers to "go nuts". But yeah considering he turned to a djinn I can see Little Ina playing a lot of The lamp of Aladin games as kid, but yeah I do like this direction, assuming he works like a djinn does, Sabrina might have gotten her own living equivalent of this site's infamous "magic stone" ;)

I'm glad you like it, I was actually inspired by this one particular line from your origin chapter.

This sort of forced me to start thinking outside the box and imagine things like this or perhaps a bakeneko or other powerful mythological creature. (That's also cute)

I don't really have the plan beyond the initial few chapters but I did want to include a couple of things to make it interesting if anybody else wanted to continue, like the booming mystery voice.

Oh wait you're the one who did the familiar game on TfGames, quite the honor to have you writing from my branch. I've spent a lot of focus on the relation of these two dorks so I'm really happy how you wrote them here. Also, a Djinn, unexpected, was expecting more animal based forms but I like it, a lot actually, specially since this would make an extremely powerful familiar bound to a really unexperienced witch. This definetly made my day today, I'll be looking forward to how this branch develops. :)

Yeah maybe, I realized this concept resulted in a chapter that was rather front loaded. The general idea was to have Jon slowly become something of a Ms. Fine type figure, but with a very particular agenda. The trouble with maintaining narrative tension when Jon has a clear goal, is that the stone makes things a bit too easy if he's not hugly dumb with it. I think that's why the Something Interesting branch is so popular, it neatly keeps him from over-utilizing the stone.

Glad you're enjoying it! I wasn't sure how well it'd fly since the wishing stone's essentially been put away indefinitely, but I'm trying to keep some of the magic going with the dresser. I've written several more updates after this one that I'm still editing as I increase the length of the story line, constantly revising as later details pop into my head that should be called out earlier on. There will definitely be more.

Speaking of AI, I've tried many AIs, Novel AI is good, but it limits you to a number of tokens per account, personally I really like Dreamily AI, It's nearly as powerful and appears to be completely free with no token limitations thus far.

So I fear I wrote myself into a corner here. I tried to be ‘clever’ and try something weird with story structure … but stories are made a certain way for a reason and this isn’t going to work. Going to take a few steps back, sorry to anyone who got invested in this.

Must say, haven't been this much in bested in one of these since my first read here, that being Iridescent Sun. There's a good premise and a bit of mistery even. Also I like what you did with the exposition part between Larry and Shirley, many get caught on the show don't tell axiom to realize that banter is not only a natural way to expose, but also build character. I also adore Koto, I'm gonna stop reading for today so I don't know how he turns out, but I love the sheer sentient experiment laerning of our world aesthetic he has. Kinda reminds me of Imperfect Cell from Dbz, but instead of absorbing people he transforms them to achieve a Perfect world so to speak.

Hello there, I'm the author of this little snippet. It's actually my first contribution to this site, so feedback is appreciated. I doubt for now I will continue the storyline myself, this was designed to function as a starting branch, so feel free to concoct your own familiar forms and scenarios.
