Some of that will be addressed in the next chapter to a degree. Part of it comes down to the fact that they're exchanging minds not physical brains, so whoever is in Leonard's body will become as smart as he was, if not as knowledgeable. It's a sort of software vs hardware kind of thing and it will extend a bit to muscle memory and so on as well. You're right that this class isn't something that would normally exist, even if the technology for it to happen did, it's purely a result of the stone that people are broadly okay with that. I tried to get that across with Jon, who wasn't mentally affected by the wish, being the one to be the most confused/put off by the whole concept initially.
I suppose some of this comes down to a difference of preference; I prefer a body swap to a transformation personally, particularly if the exchange is uneven in some way. It's interesting to explore a complete swapping of identities both physically and socially. I agree that this can lead to some situations that no real person should have to go through, but these are fictional characters. Hopefully you can still find some enjoyment, and if not, I have contributed to other branches that may be more up your alley.

"I sat on the wall after class, nervously fingering the box", "Karyn fingered the stone, passing it from hand to hand" You know there sure is a lot of fingering going on in this introductory chapter. I wonder if that's supposed to be foreshadowing, maybe the creator anticipated the number of times Jon was going to get turned into a girl.

To be honest, this episode raises some very serious concerns, for example, no matter how detailed the log book is, it cannot possibly go into every detail, also, the point Leonard raised is very valid, if he swaps with someone that lacks his intelligence then his grades will plummet, ruining his life, even more seriously is what happens to Nadine and her partner, their lifestyles are incompatible, morally and ethically it is absolutely wrong to force Nadine to give up her beliefs, no matter how odd they might be, same with Alyssa, how can either of them possibly live the others life without betraying their deepest held beliefs?. This goes well beyond interesting into actually quite nasty territory, I think the basic idea is quite interesting, although, I've never been very keen on Body Swaps, especially unequal ones, however, that is my personal preference. There's some good writing here and it might be fun to see just how this turns out

Except Jon (Juniper) wished "I wish that no one would be able to take the wishing stone from me, unless I willingly give it to them." So it violates what was already wished for for new Jon to wish it away. The only way for it to make sense is if by wishing for it to "disappear" that he just made it invisible and possibly for old Jon (Juniper) to not be able to feel it, but it should at least still be there.

Interesting. I was a bit worried Biff was just going to be cured. I’m rather glad she’s sphinxified again. Cute kissing scenes

Boldore not really, natural log is still not defined for anything but positive real numbers, because although e^(iπ) is -1, so is e^(5iπ) and e^(9iπ) and e^(-3iπ) so the inverse function would need to be defined arbitrarily over a particular range. And there is a function which does this but it is called the complex logarithm or complex natural logarithm.

Rearranging atoms require energy .. doing it in a specific pattern decreases entropy for that area… you are literally extending the life of someone, putting more sand in their hourglass. At least that’s how I saw it

I would say AR is not actually breaking the laws of physics.
It is just rearaging matter into a new form that already existed.

It would be interesting to see her start to get more perverted later her and yuki start to perv on girls together. Maybe abby gets a boner from one of the teachers and goes to the bathroom to jerk off. As shes going at it she hears someone in the stall next to her. Its yuki. But this is just an idea im throwing out

It’s all good. My primary thought was that these were young people new to a relationship. A jock and a pretty cheerleader girl. That relationship is probably 90% physical attraction, since that’s generally how it starts. A change in physicality can result in a sudden loss of that relationship… not necessarily a gender change. If Biff was paralysed in an accident for instance would Sarah be at his side? She would like to think so I think… and this chapter addresses the exact thoughts I had there.
…lately felt more optimistic. It is new to Sarah but that 10% of him she likes is still there.. and even the physical bodies we have will grow old and wither… male or female. I think Sarah does still like him she just has to get used to the new Biff. That’s my take on it.
I don’t mind stories going down darker/lighter routes I mean it’s there to be used as you like ;)

All right Ms. Cork, I went to the “most hits this week” page and it’s clear that my stuff is highly clicked on and yet highly hated. Here are the top 4 positions:
Author Episodes Hits Views Upvotes
Gooose 9 3523 850 37
lifesmainantagonist 7 2232 719 3
Ms. Cork 5 2138 717 18
Marazhna 2 1184 479 17
You can’t blame that on the weather. Just look at how much your content is loved by comparison. And the chapter after this one was one of only 2 additions to the website on 7-06-23 in Eastern time. Mine has 0 upvotes and the other one already has 5. Or is everyone else just upvoting their own content with multiple alt accounts? Either way I guess I’m done here after all.

On Unexpected Connections + Unique Opportunity
Thanks. Well when I tried to go to the discord server, it kept asking me for things, and I stopped when it asked me for a cellphone number and said it was going to send me a text message. There was a limit to the amount of my personal information I was willing to put in someone's system. If it was a more innocuous sort of chat or message system that didn't require that sort of thing, I would have been more willing.
By lifesmainantagonist -
It sounds like you have a lot of questions, and I'll do my best here, but you'll get more and faster responses if you ask on our Discord server. People who know a lot more about the backend than me (and who programmed the backend) are frequent users there. It's also a good place to get feedback on your stories.
Discord link: https://discord.gg/eGPxp5A
That said, all of us who run this site are volunteers, and nobody's getting paid, so that means we aren't a particularly sophisticated setup and sometimes we just don't have answers. We don't have a way of knowing how many bots frequent the website, or why some stories get more views than others, or more upvotes. Sometimes one chapter title will catch someone's eye more than another. Sometimes people will just open the most recent chapter and then click "View story so far" to read the most recent 3 or 4 chapters. Those won't register as views or hits for all but the most recent chapter, even if the user technically read all of them, and we don't currently have a way to track how often that happens. Sometimes people feel like upvoting, and sometimes they don't. It might even be the weather: if you post when it's raining in a lot of places, those people might just feel less like upvoting. And, well, sometimes they just like a chapter, and sometimes they don't. You can't argue about the flavor of the moon shrug
But I get it. I've had stories where my chapters are consistently getting above 5 upvotes, and then all of a sudden they're barely getting one. And I'm not sure why. It's definitely frustrating, but it's almost certainly not nefarious. And the stuff you're writing is certainly welcome.
I'm sorry if that's not the answer you were hoping for, but again, we're all volunteers here doing our best. I hope you don't get discouraged, and I hope you keep on writing. And again, I know it's not for everyone but you're always welcome to drop by the Discord server :)

Nah, he was mentioned in chapter five, but he has changed. The implication is that he's biologically the son of Serena now, while Zoe and Juliet were borne by Linda. He hasn't changed much personality wise, just looks a bit different.
By Gooose -
Ok. So that means many different registered users visited them and I should go by views and not hits. Nevertheless let's not discount the possibility that bots could have registered accounts too. The numbers still don't make any sense for actual human readers behaving as I would expect or showing actual interest in the story, consider the current stats for the 6 chapters I wrote for this story:
hits views depth
210 59 43
234 57 44
271 63 45
349 78 46
274 70 47
207 67 48
This still means that if it's actual humans, that they're not reading the story from start to finish because the numbers should be staying the same or descending the further toward the end it goes, but it's actually basically ascending for the first 4 chapters I wrote. It still doesn't really suggest anyone is reading it or has any interest in the story, just clicking on a single chapter and probably immediately losing interest without looking at the ones before it that lead up to it. But why click on something at a depth of 48 without knowing what you're getting into? How about you, are you actually reading it? Or did you just reply to my comment because it was listed in recent comments on the main page? My concern is that my additions to this story are unwelcome at worst and no one cares at best. I don't even know if I should be doing this, just posting the end of this story I found and found interesting, to be received by silence. The chapters written by chompy also are heavily upvoted and none of mine are, though they have been sitting there for 2 or 3 years and mine are recent (yet the views are already comparable to Chompy's chapters in that short time). If this is unwelcome someone say so. If I'm intruding on the territory I should not be treading on, I will stop.

Mikey is just gone as well?

Hits represent any time a link to a branch is clicked, and theoretically may be open to abuse by bots, but views represent the number of registered users, total, who have clicked on a link, regardless of how many times they clicked. Technically you could program a bot to register a bunch of usernames, but that seems a silly thing to do. Chances are, all of your views are real people, and most of your hits are, too. But hits might be one person checking back on the story multiple times, while views are all just one person each.
By Ms. Cork -
Perhaps. But also take into consideration that Mikey is adopted in this storyline. Jon is the only one biologically related to his grandfather. I don't know if that makes a difference.

Now though in this chapter https://fictionbranches.net/fb/story/1982297 it is made rather clear that Sarah just doesn't want to see Sphinx Biff as more than friends, her later confrontation with James here https://fictionbranches.net/fb/story/2112195 and reprimanding James on abandoning Sarah so easily and making a show of helping James in a small way (not that James actually COULD have helped Sarah in a useful way at the time, it was only the werecat Gym teacher that mentored Sarah in a useful way, so Sarah could only be referring to James abandoning Sarah as a romantic partner), does still reek of hypocrisy on Sarah's part, since she just as easily abandoned Biff, so I think it is reasonable within the bounds of her character that she would reconsider what she is willing to have with female Sphinx Biff. After all, if she hadn't discovered James was involved in the revenge plot against Biff, Sarah would have been faced with the reality yet again just abandoning a guy for turning into a girl, this time as a result of having contact with HER. So I don't think it is too inconsistent with the continuity for her to just accept Biff. But I think there's a point where after experiencing abandonment herself and seeing how flippant it would require her to be in order to abandon Biff at this point, coupled with the now observed fact that Biff may even be able to at least temporarily return to his original form, that she Sarah would just say to heck with it and be willing to go further with Biff after all. I still would want to hear feedback from Chompy on this matter though. This is your story.
