I thought about my options for a moment and decided to just own up to the situation and be straight with Suzie right off the bat. She may already get pissed at me for being so careless with the creation process, don't need to trick her too... I thought.

I walked over to her, and she took notice pretty quickly. She looked really confused when she realised that it was her I was heading for. When I was just a couple of feet from her, I stopped. "Hi Suzie..." I said sheepishly.

"Um, hi..." Suzie said, still clearly confused. "Do I know you?"

"I would hope so, since we've been together for about a year now." I said, watching an understanding cross her face, but the confusion that had been present remained.

"David!? Why on Earth do you look like that?" she asked, trying to keep her voice to a moderate level while also trying to restrain some laughter.

"I, um, decided to use the randomizer so that I could meet with you quicker, and kinda got the short end of the stick..."

"Yeah, I'll say." Suzie said, chuckling. "You should have just made your character, I wouldn't have minded waiting. Besides, it may seem like a long time when you're making the character, but it really only ends up being fifteen or twenty minutes."

"Oh..." I said, bitterly. "Kinda wish I had known that before I decided to random it up, but it's not that bad. After today, I'll delete this character and make one next time I log in."

"Um, about that..." Suzie said. "Some jackasses had been hacking people's accounts and deleting their characters, so the mods have suspended character deletion until all of the perpetrators can be caught. And, since each save disc can only have one character on it..."

"I'm...stuck?" I asked. "No...not a problem, I'll just buy another save disc and..." before I could finish, Suzie butted in.

"Dave, those go for about $150. I doubt you have that kinda money laying around right now, especially after blowing so much on the console."

She was right, of course. I had no job, and was only able to afford the FOG console by saving money I got for my birthday and holidays, and by doing busy work around my neighborhood. After my rather extravagant purchase, I was completely broke.

"Well shit." I said, sitting next to Suzie on the side of the fountain.

"Oh, it's not that bad." Suzie said, trying to be reassuring. "I mean, we still get to be together in here."

"Yeah, but this is still pretty bad." I said.

"Oh, come on. Moping isn't gonna do any good. It's done now. So let's go do something, huh?"

I looked over at Suzie and nodded. "Alright, babe." I said. "You're the veteran around here. Show this noob around."

"It's weird having another grl call me 'babe'." Suzie said. "Since you're leaving the choice of activities to me, I guess we could..."
