Keith took a sip of his water as he looked out of the window. He couldn’t wait for tomorrow’s game. It would be his first ever NHL game. He had been playing well for the Eagles lately, and the general manager for the Avalanche had taken notice.
“Ladies and gentlemen,” the flight attendant announced over the PA system, “we will shortly be arriving in Seattle, where the local time is 3:30. Please make sure that your window shades are pulled up, your electronic devices are in airplane mode, your seat back is upright and that the tables are locked in the upright position.”
Keith pondered this. There was something off about the crew, but he just couldn’t quite place it. He shook his head and continued to peek out of the window as he watched the plane come in to land.
After the plane taxied to the gate, and once the seatbelt sign had been turned off, Keith got up along with everyone else and started to get his belongings out of the overhead compartment. As he did so, he noticed a young couple a few seats behind him. The girl was tall and muscular, whereas in comparison, the guy was rather short and thin. He also had breasts.
Keith realized that this couple must be from Valley Lake. He had heard strange things about that place. He also noticed a few passengers around the couple starting to panic and freak out a bit. Keith looked around and saw that in the aisle next to the couple there was a family screaming and shouting.
He shook his head. He could have sworn that that row had held a couple of businessmen and two female adults. Wondering what was going on, Keith stood there and watched for a moment as another couple passed down the aisle and changed right before his eyes!
The older couple stumbled as they changed and then looked at themselves. The man had been changed into a blonde bombshell. From the way his hair had been styled to his clothes, the man looked like he was some kind of golddigger, which made sense when Keith looked over to his wife.
While the man looked years younger (he had been in his late fifties), the woman now looked a lot older. In fact, from the sharp business suit that she was wearing, Keith would have said that the couple should have been in first class instead of coach.
Starting to catch on, Keith quickly gathered his things and started to push on up the aisle, hoping to get away from the couple from Valley Lake. He was in such a hurry that he didn’t hear the flight attendant that was waiting by the exit say to him, “Have a wonderful day.” Once he got to the baggage claim area. Keith allowed himself a moment to breathe. He had made it! All he had to do was get his suitcase and then he could get as far away as he possibly could from those people.
As he caught his breath, Keith noticed a few people staring at him oddly, but he ignored it. He chalked it up to possibly being recognized as to who he was. Finally, his bag arrived and Keith picked it up and headed towards the exit.
As he checked his phone for the directions to the hotel where his team was staying, Keith felt the urge to pee. He looked for the nearest toilets and made his way towards them.
Keith ducked into the men's room and quickly headed over to the urinals. He reached for the zipper in his pants but found that there wasn’t one.
That’s odd, Keith thought to himself. I’m sure that there was one there before. Shrugging, Keith undid his belt buckle and lowered his pants slightly. It was only then, as Keith reached down, did he notice that his life had been changed forever.
