Mikey was worried about Sarah. She had been acting oddly since they had met that woman Linda on the sidewalk. As they walked down the aisles of the supermarket she kept stealing glances at him, almost like she was unsure as to who he was. It wasn’t just Mikey that she acted this way but with everyone else they met.

Like old Mrs Wilson, their elderly next door neighbour. Usually, Sarah was really friendly with the woman, she would pop over and have tea and biscuits with her just to give her some company. Sarah sometimes dragged Mikey along, but today, Sarah acted like she didn’t know Mrs Wilson at all and after their first meeting, Sarah tried to avoid her by ducking down another aisle.

It was only as they were walking down the ready meals section that Sarah started to act like her usual self. She brought the trolley to a halt and then looked sweetly at Mikey.

“What would you like for dinner tonight honey?” She asked him.

Mikey grew excited. He always liked it when he got to choose his meal, it meant that he wouldn’t be forced to eat anything icky like carrots or other vegetables. He practically ran down the aisle to where he knew that his favourite would be and he picked up the box.
“How about pizza?” He asked excitedly. Sarah smiled at him as she wandered over to him and put the box into the trolley.

“OK honey.” She said. They got a few more bits and then headed to the checkout where Sarah started to unload the shopping.

By the time they were finished, Mikey was starting to get bored. Sarah had just finished putting the last bag into the trolley when she turned to him and said.

“Don’t forget your purse honey.”
