Ryder sauntered back to the kitchen and touched the stone in his pocket. "I wish we had a six pack in the fridge..." He blinked as the magic took effect, then opened the door, and grabbed one of the crisp cool bottles. In one swift motion the cap was popped from the bottle and tossed in the garbage. Then, just as quickly, he vaulted the breakfast bar, and sunk into the living room couch. Having trouble finding the remote, he simply chuckled, and wished it into his hand, before flipping on the NFL and taking a long swig of his beer. It was icy cold and fresh. God, this was the life... So why didn't he feel like it was?

He glanced back to the hallway leading to the master bath, and his stomach curled into a knot. Nervously he took another longer drink of beer, and tried to distract himself with the plays on the screen. It wasn't doing anything for him, and instead the restlessness simply grew. A chill shot up and down his spine, prompting him to step outside to the back porch. There he leaned against the railing and let the warmth and sunlight soak into his skin. It felt good, but still did little for his nerves. He considered using the stone to wish himself calm, but decided against it. Instead, with a deep breath, he recounted the days events, trying to figure out what it was putting him on edge.

After he found the wishing stone, he put it to good use right away, giving himself a high classic corvette tuner, perfecting all his grades, and making himself the all star wide receiver of his school. That was pretty fuckin awesome. He smirked and took a another swig. Then, he turned a wish on Allison. It didn't feel right at first, but he figured out a wish that didn't seem dirty.

"I wish Allison loved me like she did two weeks ago."

Perfect, right? He didn't have to change Allison, just remind her what they had before Zoe got the stone and started to intervene. Then he made a little wish to fix Zoe up too.

"I wish Zoe was more like her sister, and would stop getting between Allison and me." A self satisfied smug appeared on his face. Both wishes were brilliant, naturally. They didn't mess things up too much, but still got him what he wanted.

Next, he wished Allison would come see him again during her study hall, and then...

The smile fell from his face.

And then, that's when things went weird. Even after everything he did, Allison still rejected him. They were right there, in the heat of the moment, and she still pushed him away. He threw his now empty beer bottle at the trashcan on the ground level and sunk it perfectly. The shattering glass accented his own frustration. Why?

She said it was because they were at school, even though that had never bothered her before. So, he wished them to summer vacation... But he still wasn't sure, that didn't seem like it.

He nodded, and that was why he was nervous. Would the woman who walks out of the bathroom, be his warm lovey girlfriend, or the panicky cold prude?

He gripped the stone in his pocket.
