Jon woke up the next day and got dressed. Begrudgingly, he put on one of the new tops that his mom had brought him, this time choosing a bright yellow one. Yesterday, when they had got home, Jon’s mom had transferred the rest of his clothing to Zoe’s room despite his protests. So Jon was left with putting on the new pair of jeans that they had brought.

It was a bit of a struggle. The jeans seemed really tight and he had to wriggle about a lot before he finally managed to get into them. Once he had finally got dressed, Jon headed downstairs for breakfast grabbing his bookbag and phone on the way out.
“Mom!” Jon whined as he entered the kitchen. “These jeans are way too tight. I can’t get my phone or my wallet into the pockets.”

His mother let out an audible sigh. “Really Jon. You’ve got to stop complaining about these things. We spent a fair amount of money on those clothes. You should be a bit more appreciative.”

Jon felt bad. “Your right mom. I’m sorry, but what am I supposed to do about these?” He asked holding up his phone and wallet.

Linda paused for a moment, thinking, and then she had an idea. “Hold on a minute son.” She said as she got up. She left the room for a few minutes heading upstairs. Soon she returned with what Jon could only describe as a bright yellow purse.

“Here son. Try this.” She said offering Jon the purse.

Jon looked at her like she was crazy. “Mom! That’s a purse. Guys don’t carry purses.”

Linda started to get cross.

“It’s called a carry all Jon. And I’m really starting to get annoyed with all this arguing. Your brother and sister are never this much trouble when it comes to clothes.” She sat down and resumed her breakfast.

“Besides, it’ll help you carry your phone around and anything else that you might need. It also matches your top.”

“But mom!” Jon whined.

“No buts.” Linda cut him off sounding really fed up. “Now eat your breakfast.”

Jon sighed and, seeing that there was no way out of this, sat down for his breakfast.
