Michelle felt… odd.

For ages it felt like her power had been well- limitless. The more she understood it, the more she could do.. the more she did, the more she understood. She had never done anything quite as big as this though as her power blanketed the entire Earth. She had just one thought in mind.. for all who might create law, to become a new race of slime-girls.

She succeeded.

It didn’t matter where they were from, or what particular politics they might play into… the bar was set by her power and the magic did its thing. She was back in her throne room again feeling that odd pull and.. strange tiredness.

“Greetings Michelle,” said the voice of a woman.

Michelle groaned a bit. “Oh.. Death?” She smiled a bit. “Did I push myself too hard?” she frowned a bit as her tails waved behind her. All eight of them in an excitable pose.

Death shook her head. “Well… I don’t want to tell you the limits of your power. You are approaching them though, I dare say you would not be able to do a world changing spell for quite some time. I’m actually here because everyone who is.. not immortal is doomed.”

“...what?”

Death gestured to the magical television screen. Images of various slime girls were talking to each other. Michelle couldn’t help but grin. They all looked alike.. they had slightly distinct accents but besides that.. well.. it was hard to tell a president of one country to another lower on the chain. “Looks like it worked pretty good...”

“I know I know-” The voice was desperate. “Look the president can’t talk right now- what made you think you were speaking to the president!” The secretary gave up. She was a simple green slime-like girl. Her membrane was slightly hardened skin but one could see all the way through her. She was in some distress but.. more so by the fact that everyone in the building looked exactly as she did.

Another slime-girl walked past. “Uh- could you take this to the president- or are you the president?”

The slime girl stared back, rolled her eyes and took the note. “Hm… let’s assume I am the president,” the slime girl said as she examined the note. “One more country has just said to launch a nuclear attack against the fox-demon. If I don’t do it myself, they will do it.. what should I do?”

The slime girl looked squeamish. “I don’t know. They are all saying this is being taken as an act of war. Technically by us. Some are suggesting we did it intentionally- how can one citizen even have this kind of power?”

The other sime girl shrugged. “Power comes and goes. The choice I face is one or the other. If I launch a nuclear strike.. I might save more people in the long term. Or if I do nothing all the other countries could launch against us- I’m confident our allies won’t but…”

“Yeah, a lot of people have taken this.. change pretty damn badly.” The secretary slime girl looked down at the thought. “We’ve got every dictator and despot eager to launch- they are taking it extremely personally.”

“It is personal...” The other slime girl suggested. “So what would you advice the president to do? Take control and launch? Or face a possible nuclear strike by others on our soil… I don’t have a third option to take.” The slime girl stared blankly. “If I was the president.. I wouldn’t honestly know what to do...”

The secretary slime girl stared outward. “The president could suggest that any action upon us would result in a strike back… as we have always maintained.”

“.. do you honestly think the men who have been changed into woman- slime-woman would care?” the slime girl gave a crazy look to her eyes. A look that looked chilling. “They would launch… these are not exactly sane right now. They would launch… I know they would.”

“Because you would?”

“… yes.” The slime girl stared out the window a moment. “.. I would.”

“Maybe we shouldn’t assume it- they might be rational. More rational then you. For goodness sakes we are talking about nuclear weapons!” The secretary suddenly raised her voice. “You can’t launch an attack just to kill one person even if it is a demon!”

“What if the demon does more! What if we’re reduced to a walking pile of crap- I don’t know what we’re dealing with but taking no action at all is suicide- the others will launch instead and we will have world war three on our hands!” The other slime girl clenched her fists. “No president ever wants to be in this situation- No man.. could endure… this...”

“… are you going to take the note to the president now?” The slime girl asked quietly.

“..yes. I .. best do so.” The identical slime girl nodded and departed.

Michelle looked at the image. It was a silo.. a single missile was heading up in the sky. It looked almost pretty, like a strange shooting star in the horizon. “Hm… one of ours hm?”

Death shrugged. “Your weapons of destruction all look alike to me. Honestly I couldn’t tell. I don’t think it really matters though?” Death took out an hourglass. It was a.. strange one. Unlike all the others, it had blue sands. There was a single orb in the middle and it was lit by a sky of blackened night and a rock at the bottom. “This.. is the Earth’s time. I’m afraid Earth will die in.. about thirty seconds,” she tapped the glass. “Oh wait no- twenty six seconds. Hm, I was really hoping to pick up my daughter from school today too...”

Michelle stared wide eyed. “Okay time out- stop time. I demand you stop time! I need to think-”

Death watched impassively and snapped her fingers. “There. So, what solutions can you offer?”

Michelle brought her hands to her lips. “What about my child of War? Alex! He could destroy that bomb.”

Death nodded. “Yes.. and they will send another.. and another.. and another. They will keep hitting until you are dead. You .. really stirred a hornets nest here dear,” She sighed. “Human technology is honestly something you should have considered. Please keep thinking, the moment you are out of ideas is when time will resume.. and all will be as it is...”

“Urgh! I’ll get rid of all nukes- every single nuke.” Michelle nodded.

“I’m afraid you lack the power to do anything like that. Tiffany could possibly do it, if she wasn’t so.. unfocused. Your best bet right now for that is Jen.”

“Jen- you want me to go beg Jen for help?!” She spat. “I would rather the bombs fall then beg her!”

Death let the time resume. Once more the sands fell. “… really?”

“Okay fine! Crap- stop. Get Jen here...”

Jen blinked. She was in her house and now she was somewhere else. Magical teleportation really messed her up. “What’s going on- you!” she stared at Michelle. “What’s the deal-”

“Okay look- things got ‘slightly’ out of hand...”

Death tapped an hourglass. “fourteen seconds…” she sighed.

Jen glanced at the hourglass. Somehow she sensed it was the hourglass of ‘all’ things. “… you idiot.” she frowned. “You killed Earth!?”

“No- human technology did. I need you to use your magic and remove all human technology. Or at least push it back to the point where they can’t make nuclear attacks.” Michelle folded her arms, her fox tails waving behind her.

Jen blinked. “Just how am I to even do that!” She muttered. “I havn’t even done any magic spells. I’m reduced to some pregnant looking woman-”

Death pointed at Jen and.. suddenly there was a bubble. “You are life itself Jen.. the potential of all life. I can not come near you.” She whispered softly. “Extend your aura to the Earth and it will undergo rebirth… I hope you might do so in.. seven seconds.”

“Seven.. urgh! Fine- I’ll do it.” Jen didn’t want the entire Earth to die. She closed her eyes.. “What do I do...”

“Focus on that bubble.. and just push me away.. far away until I am beyond the Earth,” Death said quietly. “Oh don’t worry I’ll be back. I’m always.. back...” She whispered with a gleam in her eyes.

Jen did as asked.. a strange white light flowing out of her body. Death was instantly repelled, pushed away with such speed that she was sent into the orbit of the Earth. Magic did it’s work as she was no longer there… the missile heading towards their world instantly evaporated.

Flowers began to bloom everywhere.. towns became ensnared in cities as the world took on a more.. fantastical shape.

It was a new world.. a world of magic instead of technology…
