Jake (or rather Jane, now) watched silently in shock as his best friend David Holt walked down the aisle with his mother. David was wearing a beautiful white wedding dress that just looked bizarre on him. But everyone else thought he looked great in it - lots of "oohs and aahs". David's mother was dressed in a suit and tie. No make-up and no jewelry, though she did still have the shoulder-length hair she normally had. It was odd. Everything seemed to be switched between males and females - clothing, make-up, jewelry, even behavior, but for some reason, hair styles remained the same. Which was why Jake (now as a woman) had long hair instead of the short hair he was used to.
After arriving at the altar, David and Ashley exchanged their vows and then came the part where the priest (a woman, in this scenario) said "If anyone can show just cause why this couple cannot lawfully be joined together in matrimony, let them speak now or forever hold their peace."
And that was when Jake blurted out "I object!", which caused everyone to turn and look at him (actually, her) with shocked looks on their faces. But Jake couldn't help it. Something really weird was going on. It shouldn't have been like this. Ashley should have been the one in the dress and David should have been the one in the tux. But now how would he explain himself? If he told everyone that they were crossdressing, they'd think that he must have lost his mind.
"Jane, what are you doing?" Ashley angrily whispered.
