'Alright. Just play it cool. Nobody knows. Except Karyn. This'll all be done within the week.' Jon looked in the mirror, and slipped the mask in his pocket. At exactly that moment, he heard a knock at the door. The same one every morning. Jon went downstairs, and seeing Karyn outside, said bye to his Mom, and headed to the bus stop.
Jon and Karyn walked down the street. Karyn, eager to chat Jon up. "So you flew with Silverhawk?" "Yeah," Jon replied. "What's he like?" Jon struggled to come up with an answer. He tried to find a comparable superhero, but Karyn wouldn't understand. "He's pretty much like what you see on TV." Karyn nodded, "Guess some guys really are that nice. Did you really see the inside of the Society building? How was it?" Jon looked around, "I signed a waiver. I'm not allowed to talk about it. Keep your voice down, I want to keep this quiet." Karyn stifled a giggle. "Right. Secret identity. Lips are zipped."

School was school. It was uneventful and you don't want to read about it, except for one thing that happened just before Homeroom. Jon stood at his locker, when suddenly, he felt the earth shake beneath him. He looked around, and saw all of the kids running for the exit. But they weren't afraid. They chattered excitedly. Jon followed, trying to seem inconspicuous.
When he and the other students arrived at the football field, they couldn't believe what they saw. The whole field seemed dug up. Earth was strewn about with little care. And then, a compact mound of Earth rose. Jon looked to the side, and saw Biff Meadows, smiling and holding his hands up, moving them in tune with the dirt. 'I can't BELIEVE this,' Was all Jon had to think about. 'Now Biff has powers!?' Sarah ran over and jumped on Biff, causing him to lose control of the Earth. He laughed as he stumbled. "Biff, how'd you do that?" One of the students yelled. Biff shrugged, "Happened yesterday after practice. Don't know how. Starting Meta school today." Then Biff's smile faded, "Only downside: I gotta quit the team. Sorry guys." Jon walked away. 'I can't believe it. If anybody didn't deserve powers, it's that guy.'
Jon met with Karyn at lunch. Jon looked around and looked at Karyn. Karyn rolled her eyes. "Okay, get it over with." Jon took a deep breath and... "Of all the arrogant, stupid, self-centered assholes at this school, the BIGGEST one here had to be the one to get superpowers. He doesn't need more people fawning all over him. It's not fair!" Karyn raised her finger, "You have powers too." "I have to be a a girl." Karyn nodded, conceding Jon's point.
"Jonny!" They both heard. Jon sighed as Biff walked over to them. "Saw you at my show. Pretty cool, right?" "Congratulations, Biff. You can throw rocks," Jon said, without even looking at Biff. Biff laughed as he walked to the side of the table, taking a piece of coal out of his pocket. "Still trying to be funny, huh?" "Oh, believe me, Biff. With you, I don't have to try," Jon smirked. Bill tapped the piece of coal agains the table. "Karyn, how do you put up with this guy?" Karyn shook her head. "Oh, it's a challenge. I just have to remind myself he's not as obnoxious as you and McBitch." "Ooooh. Hostility. Well, I happen to know that you're the big superhero geek at this school. So I just wanted to ask you something." "Shoot." Biff held up the piece of coal. Jon and Karyn watched as the coal began to come apart. "Impressed?" Biff asked, just as the coal shattered. Biff looked around. "Where's the diamond?" Jon snickered as Biff dug through useless coal shards. Karyn pressed her hand firmly against her forehead. Biff rolled his eyes and looked straight at Jon. "I'll figure it out. Until then, don't get smart with me anymore. Wouldn't want you to be like that lump of coal." Biff started to walk away as Jon yelled, "You might have better luck with the diamond!"

School came and went, and all anybody could talk about was Biff. Even though Arcadia was among them, nobody could be bothered to look past the star quarterback. With nobody in sight, Jon donned his mask, and, taking on the ever-curvy and slightly embarrassing form of Arcadia. She nodded at Karyn. "Go get 'em, tiger," was all Karyn had to say just before Arcadia took off for her first day of Meta school.
Meanwhile, Biff walked to his car, joined by Randy, Steve, and Sarah. "Come on, Biff!" Yelled Steve. "You can go anytime! We need you." Biff shook his head. "Nah, man. I love football, but ya gotta understand, I get to hang with Silverhawk and NanoTech while you guys toss a ball around. Priorities." Sarah nodded. "That's right. Biffy is gonna show the world his stuff." Randy fist bumped Biff, and said, "Alright, alright. But uh, you ever meet Coldcase, ya gotta introduce me." Biff laughed and got in his Jeep, so he could rock everyone's world at his first day of Meta school.
