Jon blinked. His parents were still fighting.

He walked into the kitchen where they were and was shocked at what he saw ... but then his shock disappeared. Since his memories had changed to fit the new reality, why should he be shocked to see his father dressed in his usual fashionable (yet male) clothing and his mother dressed in a baggy sweatshirt and loose jeans? His father had always been overly emotional ... growing up with a girl for a best friend, after all, made him that way. He wasn't gay or anything, but he liked to do things that women liked to do. And his mother had always been emotionally shallow, always preferring lust over love, when it came to the opposite sex. And she could be pretty crude about it too, especially if she had too much to drink, which seemed to happen quite often. Growing up with a guy for a best friend, after all, made her that way. He paused, knowing deep down that something was out of the ordinary, but just couldn't put his finger on it.

He shook his head, then made his way upstairs to his bedroom, trying to ignore his parents for the umpteenth time. Today's argument apparently had to do with his mom getting mad at his dad for buying an expensive suit and his dad getting mad at his mom (and actually crying a bit) for constantly spending time at bars with her best friend Art.

Jon briefly wondered if he could make a wish to reverse his parents' best friends. Maybe it would make them stop arguing. But he had a feeling, for some reason, that it wouldn't do any good.
