"Do you guys wanna go to the mall?" Jenna asked. "I hear that there's a sale at Abercrombie and Fitch."
"Sure," Athena said.
"Totally," Sarah said.
On their way out the door, Jenna put the stone in her purse. She came over to meet up with her friends Sarah and Athena to show them her inheritance (the wishing stone), but she could do that later, after they did a little shopping. Apparently, she no longer remembered anything about how the stone wasn't working properly because of the influence of the other two artifacts.
Meanwhile, Zoe and Jane were getting a little worried. They hadn't heard back from Karyn yet. She said that she was going to go take the gemstone away from Sarah McMillan. But that was a while ago. Surely, she should have gotten it by now ... unless there was a problem.
In this new reality, both Zoe and Jane knew Athena as one of the popular girly girls from the high school. All memories of Athena as a gothic witch were completely gone. And both Zoe and Jane also always remembered Jon as a girly girl named Jenna (Zoe's sister and Jane's daughter), who was also best friends with Sarah and Athena. All memories of Jenna being a boy named Jon were completely gone. Karyn was no longer friends with Jon (Jenna) in this reality, which shifted around enough so that Karyn was now friends with Zoe, but also stayed mostly as herself and didn't become part of the Goth crowd.
Karyn looked around at her surroundings. She was the only person in the entire world that still remembered how things were supposed to be, before Athena and Jon were turned into Sarah's friends. A sign nearby had writing on it that looked ... Chinese? Japanese? She didn't know. But looking around at all the Asians around her, she realized that she was definitely not in America anymore.
