"So, did you bring it?" Karyn asked, seeing Jon approach her. She was waiting near the wall where he showed her the stone the previous day.
"Uh ... yeah. But I think I might have made a little mistake with it," he said. "I used it on my parents to give them a little insight into each other's lives, but I think I did something wrong. I only meant to give them the opportunity to live each other's lives for a day. You know, have my mom go to work at my dad's job, and my dad stay home and do housekeeping ... but the stone did a little more than what I wanted."
"It didn't ... swap your parent's bodies, did it?"
"No, no. Nothing like that. At least, I don't think so."
"Well, what happened?" Karyn asked.
"My mom is acting just like my dad and vice versa. They're even dressing like each other. It's weird. And people are noticing. Reality hasn't changed or anything."
"So what do you want to do? You said it's only for a day, right?" Karyn asked.
Jon nodded. "That's right. But what if my dad loses his job because of my mom? Or what if one of the neighbors sees my dad wearing my mom's clothes?"
Karyn could see that Jon was really upset about this and she wanted to help in any way she could.
