Tim got up from his desk to grab a cup of coffee. It also gave him an opportunity to check out the changes that were happening throughout his office. As he made his way through the maze of cubicles, he noticed that everyone's attention had shifted from the magazine. They were all now texting on an identical smartphone, in a flurry of manicured pink nails and giggles.
As he entered the break room, he saw Bob & Ralph standing by the coffee machine, likewise engrossed in their phones. They looked up at the same time and a smile formed on their shiny pink lips.
"Oh, hi Tim!" Ralph greeted.
"Want some coffee?" Bob asked. He'd already set the phone down and was reaching for the carafe.
"Uh, sure." He took the fresh cup from Bob. "Who are you guys talking to?"
"David, of course," Ralph said.
"He's making dinner reservations," Bob continued, "Such a sweetheart."
"What do you see in him, anyway?" Tim asked out of sheer curiosity.
"He treats me like a princess," Ralph gushed.
"Plus he's rich," Bob added.
"And hot!" The two heads of the legal department looked at each other and giggled.
"You're not so bad yourself, Timmy," Bob said as he looked Tim up and down.
"Yeah," Ralph said, "If I wasn't spoken for I might, like, let you take me to dinner or something." The balding man winked one of his mascara-laden lashes.
"You're way too good looking to be single, that's for sure."
"I guess I'm just a little shy," Tim said, starting to feel a little uncomfortable with where the conversation was going.
"Aww, well if you want any advice just, like, come talk to me!" Bob said.
"Or me," Ralph said. "We know what a girl wants!"
As Bob and Ralph walked out of the break room, a sharp clicking noise drew Tim's attention to both men's feet. Now, beneath their trousers, each had a pair of peep-toe stilettos, and a hot pink pedicure, just like Tifanny's. He stood for a moment and adjusted his pants. Had Bob and Ralph been flirting with him?
