Zoe was so good to take care of her. She didn't feel like she had to worry about anything. She began to wander around the living room. Everything looked so gigantic...person-sized. She suddenly paused, realizing she was wandering around on all fours with total comfort. This must be the special flexibility in her body the nurse had talked about. She looked at herself for a second, discovering her arms and legs were the same length...another thing she hadn't noticed.
Jen continued her exploration, and found herself back in the empty room that had been hers before. She began to feel a sense of loss. All her stuff was gone. Her whole life.
She was still lying there when the doorbell rang. Zoe hurried down the stairs and let in her friend Athena. Like Zoe, Athena was dressed in dark clothes, but nothing an average teenager wouldn't wear. The transformation wing at the hospital had killed the Goth subculture in town rather quickly.
"Thanks for helping me," Zoe said to Athena as they headed upstairs. They quickly pulled the mattress off the bed and began carrying it down the hall to the empty room.
Athena spotted the catgirl first as they released the mattress. "Hey," she said. "C'mere, girl."
Jen saw no reason to disobey, and approached Athena, letting her get a good look.
"Jen," Zoe said with authority. "Stay downstairs for a while. We're working now."
Jen headed out, understanding. Zoe had things to do...Zoe and Athena continued moving her things to the slightly larger bedroom...it was a while before Zoe came to check on Jen, who had resumed a nap on the couch.
She picked Jen up and carried her upstairs to her room. She and Athena had gotten most of the clothes in the closet moved, the bed, and some of the smaller items. "Well, Jen, what do you think of my room?"
Jen looked at her. This was her room, not Zoe's. "Mrow!" She exclaimed, upset.
Zoe gathered her onto her lap. "This is my room, Jen," she said. "Only people have rooms, not pets," she said, gently, stroking her. "You're a pet," she reminded her.
She decided it was time to continue Jen's training, and curled up with her, and began reading from the handbook. "You are helpless without someone to take care of you," she cooed. "Your mistress loves you and takes care of you, and you love her and want to show her how much you love her."
