Larry watched Jon enter a rather ordinary looking suburban house. "Excellent! This must be Smith's little abode!" Perceptive as always, our boy Nadish was. "Now... time to do a little spying!"

He carefully snuck over to the front windows and looked in. What he saw was a rather ordinary looking living room, with a couch, coffee table, and some plants. He spotted something moving up the nearby stairwell and deduced it to be Jon going up the stairs. "Excellent! The fool leads me to his room!"

Nadish circled the house, looking for the best way to get into his prey's den. He briefly considered testing out his faulty levitation spell to see if it would work this time, but he still had bad memories of its previous failures. He then saw a drainage pipe running up the side of the house. Larry chuckled, and remarked, "This is waaaay too easy."

Grabbing hold of the pipe, Larry hefted himself up, and with much difficulty, began to climb. He got about three feet before his tired muscles gave out, causing him to slide down in exhaustion. After gaining enough strength to stand, Larry growled to himself. "Damn my lack of upperbody strength! Curse you, arms! CURSE YOU!!!" He waved his skinny girly arms into the darkening sky in fury.

"Hey, mom!" said a voice within the house. "I'm going out. I'll be back before dinner!"

It was Jon! Larry smiled.

"Okay, sweetie. Have fun!"

Nadish rubbed his hands together in delight. "Perfect! With the fool away, my liberation of that rock is as good as done!"

He heard the front door open and close, and saw Jon hurrying off down the street. Larry laughed. "Showtime!"

Straightening up his somewhat mangled clothing, Larry strode up confidently to the door and rang the bell. A few seconds later, a pleasant looking woman answered, who he asumed to be Jon's mother.

"Yes, can I help you young man?" she asked with a smile.

Larry smiled himself. "Hello, Mrs. Smith. I'm a classmate of Jon's. We're working on a science fair project together. I just completed it and I'm here to drop it off." His smile grew even wider as he congratulated himself on such a brilliant stroke of bald-faced lying.

"Oh really?" said Mrs. Smith. "Jon never said anything about a science project. I'm afraid he's out at the moment and..."

"Oh, that's okay, Mrs. Smith. I can just drop it off at his room and be on my merry way!" Larry said with flourish.

"Well, I guess that would be all right." The woman then looked at Larry and regarded him somewhat oddly. "Uh, so... where is this project?"

Nadish flinched, his mouth opening and closing in shock. He cursed himself silently. How could he have forgotten such an important detail?! Thinking quickly, his mouth spoke out. "It's, uh, in my uh... pocket."

Mrs. Smith blinked. "In your pocket?" She asked in confusion.

Larry nodded dumbly. "Yeah."

Mrs. Smith frowned. "The science fair project for your science class that you have just completed and are here to drop off is in your pocket?"

Larry was sweating heavily. "Uh, yes, ma'am."

Mrs. Smith was silent for a moment before speaking. "Can I see it?"

Larry gulped. "Um, no."

Mrs. Smith was silent for an even longer moment before she replied with a shrug. "Go ahead then, I guess. Jon's room is the first door up the stairs."

Larry let out a relieved breath and followed her directions. Upon entering Jon's room, he laughed aloud. "Yes! I have gotten past the fool Smith's hag of a mother! Now it is time to search his den of filth for the prize that I seek!"

Closing the door behind him Larry began carefully searching Jon's room for the rock. He was careful not to disturb anything too much, lest the fool realize his room had been ransacked.

After about thirty seconds of searching with no luck though, Larry's impatience got the better of him and he began to hurl items around in search of the elusive rock. "Damn it, where is it?!" he growled to himself. "Smith, you deranged fiend! Where did you put that stupid rock?"

While pulling out the stuffing in Jon's pillow, Nadish froze in horror as he heard someone coming up the stairs. Oh no! Not now!
