Jonnie tried to think about what her grandfather, now stuck in Nora's body, had told her. DeMorell's wish would cause everyone to believe that Jonnie was DeMorell's wife, and if Jon tried to tell anyone otherwise, they would believe it to be the case even if they had known that she was really Jon before.
Jon thought about this some more, and then made her way to DeMorell.
"So you have everyone believing that I'm your wife, and that we were married a year ago." she said.
DeMorell smiled. "Of course. But that doesn't give you any authority over anyone working for me. I've seen to that."
"I'm not your wife. I'm Jon!" she said.
DeMorell blinked. "What are you talking about? You're my wife! We've been married for a year now. Of course you're a bit on the tomboyish side, but I don't hold that against you."
I think it worked, Jonnie thought to herself. Now what?
If DeMorell no longer remembered that 'Jonnie DeMorell' was Jon, then how could she turn the situation to her advantage? Could she persuade him to give her the wishing stone?
She was still married to this unscrupulous rich man, and still pregnant with his child. But surely there was some way she could turn things around so that she could help herself and her family.
